In 2001 the Competition, organized by the BBC at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden, was won by brothers Dawid and Marcin Kupiński, students of the Ballet School in Gdańsk.
This year the National Opera in Warsaw will welcome talented young people, dancing to win the main prize of the 11th Eurovision Young Dancers Competition.
On June 18th, 16 participants from 13 European countries, selected from a number of applicants by a specially appointed jury, arrive in Warsaw.
Starting with June 19th they will attend courses held by Piotr Nardelli as well as Master Classes conducted by elite dancers and choreographers Irek Mukhamedov, Florence Clerc and Christopher Bruce.
On June 23rd, out of the group of participants, the Masters will select the finalists.
On June 24th, at 8.15 pm at the National Opera will be held the Final Gala, when a jury composed of Irek Mukhamedov, Maya Plisetskaya, Emil Wesołowski, Krzysztof Pastor, Gigi Caciuleanu and Jorma Uotinen will name the winner of the 11th Eurovision Young Dancers Competition. The Gala, broadcast live by Polish TVP 1, will be hosted by top television presenter Agata Konarska.
